Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering is the most common use for white light digital scanning, which includes many different applications.  By creating models with Rapidform XOR software, we are able to provide you with a water tight parametric 3D model in just about any translator language, including parasolid X_T, IGS, and STP.  A few examples we have done at B&J Specialty are below.

A well worn casting pattern without any engineering data needed to be scanned for the purpose of
creating a 3D parametric model, which, in turn, was used to create a brand new pattern.

Engineering changes were needed for a cast mirror housing.  No 3D CAD data was available.  By white
light digitizing and remodeling in Rapidform XOR, we supplied a water tight model for editing.
